EMERGENCY PEST CONTROLLER
Spiders are insects belonging to Order Arachnids. Their bodies are divided into two main parts- Cephalothorax and abdomen, including eight legs, piercing jaws, and simple eyes. A diverse blend of substances with biological origins make up spider venom. In humans, spider venom usually causes localized pain and swelling but may include: interference with blood clotting breakdown of muscle and tissue paralysis and effects on the cardiorespiratory. Only the Sydney funnel-web spider and the redback spider have ever been responsible for fatalities in Australia. Sydney funnel webs are not found in Victoria City. In 1956 there is introduction of efficient redback spider anti-venom, while 1980 saw the introduction of antivenom for funnel-web spiders. Since then, there have been no confirmed spider bite deaths in Australia

Common Types of Spiders
REDBACK SPIDERS – have Long legs and large bulbous abdomen with Small cephalothorax. They are black in color and velvety, red stripe on the dorsal surface with a Pale area on the ventral surface. The female body length is about 12-15 mm, and the Male body length is about 3-4 mm. Females live for 2-3 years, and male lives for about 6-7 months. Usually, the female kills them while they are mating. They are very toxic; female bites, but Male doesn’t bite. Females’ bite is dangerous and requires antivenom. Redback bites include pain, localized sweating, nausea, and vomiting. Redback spiders make a loose web in rubbish, unsewered toilets, and under houses.
FUNNEL-WEB SPIDERS – They are ground-dwelling spiders. They are with shiny cephalothorax, the longest terminal segment, black in colour with fine reddish hairs. Female body length is about 35 mm, and Male body length is about 30 mm. Females live for ten or more years, and males die 6-9 months after maturity. They are also very toxic; male bites are more harmful than female. Sydney funnel-web spiders are not found in Victoria. They favor moist, dark situations. They are active during late summer and autumn.
BLACK HOUSE SPIDERS –
They have large abdomens and are dark brown to black in colour. The female blackhouse spider’s body length is about 15-18 mm, and the Male’s body length is about 8-10 mm. Male spiders look for females in their nests when they are ready to mate since female spiders never leave their web unless compelled to. The spiders reach maturity in the summer and have a lifespan of roughly two years. They are very toxic, and bites cause pain, nausea, and sweating but no fatalities. They make a web at the tunnel’s center, mostly in sheds, toilets, windows, and under the guttering
HUNTSMAN SPIDERS –
Huntsman spider’s First two pairs of legs are longer than the rear two, which are Flattened and hairy. Males are slightly smaller with enlarged palps. There are dark patches on the cephalothorax and abdomen. The female spider’s length is about 35-40mm, and Male’s length is 15-25mm. They are not toxic, bites might be painful but are very rare. They do not build webs. Mostly, they live under bark during the daytime and emerge at night; they often enter houses.

- Mounting flyscreens on windows
